Okay so the bedding is still quite the work in progress. We went to a local furniture store, put on blinders as we walked straight to clearance and found this bed. I LoVe this bed!!!!! The knobs at the foot of the bed were missing (I like it better) and we even talked them down some more. The duvet cover in this picture isn't fully put together and is just laying there on top. I haven't taken any pics yet but I have now finished it and we have added taupe accents in the form of a flat sheet folding over the duvet and some pillows.
I really can't wait until this room is done. It is being put together piece by piece but I think it's making me appreciate it more. The dresser is done too I just need to put the knobs back on (semi important) and fill it with clothing that has been put in make shift baskets in our closet for 4 months! Detecting any bitterness toward things that are anything but user friendly? Yup!
This was the project that Kevin was working on before I begged him to stop and make moi some tables. He has really been a good sport with his talent of craftiness. I see something I love, ask if he can make it, he sighs, smiles and says,"Sure sweetie." This is usually the time where I cuddle up to him and beg him to tell me the story (I've heard it over 1,000 times) about a conversation he had with a buddy before we got married.
Buddy: "So you like her that much huh?"Kevin: (thinks, puts his head down, smiles flashing those dArLiNg dimples I love and says)"Man, I'd do anything to make her smile."
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I die EvErY time I hear it and it still makes me smile (go figure) and bury my head in his chest. With those words, sure sweetie, we both think about that story since ever since we've been married he's done his best to do just that...make me smile =).
These are the second set of shelving he's made for the garage and the totes fit ever so nicely on them!
Here is Kevin's first attempt at making tables. I think we've both done a good job. I designed them, he's making them. For the legs I found that buying the spindle thingies (I'm technical) that are in between a staircase are SO much cheaper and dainty than big, fat, unfinished table legs. Then he bought wood to frame them, the wood to go on top and to match the bedroom furniture I found some rod iron on sale to put in the middle as a decorative piece. More pics to come on that =).
These will go under the two mirrors I spray painted and the large flower arrangements will go on top of them reflected in the mirrors =). SO excited!!!
